Ann Turney

Ann Turney is the Development Director for Blackbird Academy of Arts, Inc. She brings to Blackbird, 30 years of experience in all areas of advancement, including in annual fund and major gifts programs.

Developing a love of the arts as a student at Hendrix College, she majored in art and earned a bachelor’s degree in 1975. In keeping with this interest, Ann is a member of the Arkansas Committee for National Museum of Women in the Arts.

She is pleased and honored to work at Blackbird Academy to gain support for this vibrant arts education program.

A strong believer in the value of community involvement, she has served on the boards of the Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre, Beaverfork Area Volunteer Fire Department, Conway Downtown Partnership, Conway Rotary Club (Paul Harris Fellow), Pine Street Community Development Corporation, Inc., and United Way of Faulkner County. She graduated from the Faulkner County Leadership Institute Alumni Association in 1994.

Ann enjoys travel, reading, and photography. She and her husband David live in the Pickles Gap community.
