Here at Blackbird Academy of Arts, we believe that quality arts education should be as accessible to our community as good schools and safe neighborhoods. We believe the arts create a better quality of life for all ages, benefit our towns in ways large and small, and that students exposed to the arts regularly will grow up into more engaged, insightful, and interactive members of society. We believe that the arts really do make a difference- that the arts can genuinely change people’s hearts.
We believe this so much that our primary mission at Blackbird is to bring the highest quality of arts education to our students and to do so in a way that anyone- regardless of their financial status or background- can take part. We accomplish this through reduced tuition rates, free community programming, partnerships with other non profits in our area to provide services, and through our scholarship fund which, since 2009, has awarded over $140,000 for students to take part in visual and performing arts classes.
This only works with financial assistance from the same community we are working to serve. Which is why we are asking for your help.
We are launching the HeART Campaign with the goal to find 200 individuals, families, or businesses willing to sign up for a recurring donation of at least $10 a month.
$10 a month may not seem like much, but it really can make a difference.
1 person giving $10 a month could provide 2 kids with a month’s worth of art classes.
10 people giving $10 a month could provide a semester’s worth of art supplies for our students.
50 people giving $10 a month could provide a full school year of dance or theatre classes for 6 kids.
200 people giving $10 a month could cover our rent and utilities for an entire summer, which means our doors stay open for hundreds of students.
Make a difference in their lives with just $10 a month.
