A preamble to music for preschool age children introduces kids to the basic concept of music, allows them to begin experimenting with rhythm, and teaches beginning terms and ideas.
Monday 10:30-‐11:15 a.m.
Throughout the course of this class, students will explore the principles and joys of being a part of a string ensemble—addressing the issues of rhythm, dynamics, bow articulations, intonation, and sound production. Additionally, a strong emphasis will be placed upon preparing for performance.
Tuesday 5:00-‐6:00 p.m.
Adult Beginning Guitar
For the adult who has always wanted to learn guitar but never found the time this class will focus on guitar basics—chords, riffs, and progressions—culminating in learning a song.
Tuesday 6:00-‐7:00 p.m.
Singing for the Stage (Ages 7-‐9)
This class is an introduction to music notation, styles, and singing technique. Students will learn how to portray a character through song, movement, and acting.
Wednesday 4:30-‐5:30 p.m.
Musical Theatre (10+)
This class will give each student the chance to combine acting, singing and movement into one performance as well as give the students a change to perform 2 times throughout the school year.
Wednesday 5:30-‐6:30 p.m.
Orff Ensemble (Ages 6+)
This class will allow time for the students to focus solely on the aspects of ensemble playing for performance. The ensemble will consist of xylophones, drums, and auxiliary instruments.
Thursday 4:00-‐4:30 p.m.
