Dress Code

All dance attire can be purchased through Kick’s Active Wear in Conway or online with Discount Dance Supply.

On the Discount Dance website please enter the teacher ID # TP34122 in the top left corner- this will give you access to the dress code requirements. When you purchase through Discount Dance using our ID #  you will receive 10% discount on your first order; any orders you make after that will give Blackbird Academy reward points that will go towards purchases for future performances or scholarship needs. This is an easy and convenient way to purchase exactly what is required. Shipping usually takes 3-5 business days.

Product numbers for class leotards are provided below.  Please make sure you purchase the correct attire for you child’s class level. Sample sizes will be available at Blackbird if you wish to try on a leotard before you order. Please call our office if you have any questions.

2011-2012 DANCE DRESS CODE

*All class ballet tights should be BALLET PINK and be either footed or convertible.

*NO skirts or shorts allowed in any level ballet class.

Creative Movement I and II

Girls: Pink footed or convertible tights, Light pink cap sleeve leotard (BlochCL5402).  Pink leather ballet shoes.   HAIR PULLED BACK.  Boys: Black top (Capezio 593Y) and black dance pants (Capezio 5939).  Black leather ballet shoes.

Pre-Ballet I

Girls: Pink footed or convertible tights, blue cap sleeve leotard (Bloch CL5402), pink leather ballet shoes.  HAIR IN BUN.  Boys: Black top (Capezio 593Y) and black dance pants (Capezio 5939).  Black leather ballet shoes.

Pre-Ballet II

Girls: Pink footed or convertible tights, lavender cap sleeve leotard (Bloch CL5402), pink leather ballet shoes. HAIR IN BUN.  Boys: Black top (Capezio 593Y) and black dance pants (Capezio 5939).  Black leather ballet shoes.

Ballet IA and IB

Ballet II

Ballet III

Adult Ballet

Women: Students may wear pink or black tights, black leotard, and black skirt, or fitted black leggings and tank top.

Men: Plain white or black t-shirt or tank and black shorts or leggings.  Black split sole ballet shoes.

Pre-Tap I

Girls: Students may wear black skirts, shorts, and/or tank tops over their class leotard.  Black tap shoes.

HAIR PULLED BACK.  Boys: White or black t-shirt and black shorts or dance pants.  Black tap shoes.

Preparatory Division Jazz

Girls: Students may wear black skirts, shorts, and/or tank tops over their class leotard.  Black split sole jazz shoes.  HAIR PULLED BACK.  Boys: White t-shirt and black shorts or sweatpants.  Black split-sole, slip on jazz shoes.

Pre-Tap II, Intermediate, and Introductory Division Tap

Fitted black jazz pants, shorts, tights, leotards, tanks, or t-shirts allowed.  Black tap shoes (Capezio CG09).  DO NOT purchase split sole tap shoes or patent leather.  HAIR PULLED BACK.

Intermediate Division Jazz

Fitted black jazz pants, shorts, tights, leotards, tanks, or t-shirts allowed.  Black split-sole, slip on jazz shoes. HAIR PULLED BACK.

Lyrical and Modern

Fitted black pants, shorts, tights, leotards, tanks, fitted t-shirts allowed. Skin-tone DancePaws.  HAIR PULLED BACK.

Pre-Pointe and Beginning Pointe

Ballet class attire.  Must check with instructor before purchasing pointe shoes.
